God's House Tower – Museum of Archaeology

God's House Tower was built in the 15th century and was probably the first purpose built artillery fortification in England. In 1961 it was opened as the Southampton Museum of Archaeology, and the collection has been awarded Designated status in recognition of its national and international importance, placing it amongst the top 50 collections in the country.
