Do not rush, take cover quietly, then others will do the same : Stuart Rodda

Do not rush, take cover quietly, then others will do the same is part of Rodda’s recent explorations, using stencils in conjunction with light boxes. Inspired directly by the history of the vaults, Rodda has selected images from WWII, reproducing them on light boxes which flicker as if lit by small fires or candles. Rodda sees this piece as an act of remembrance, in particular to those sheltering in the vault during a fateful air raid which struck a nearby water main, drowning everyone inside.

Stuart Rodda has been a resident of The Arches studios in Southampton for the past 18 months. He initially studied photography and now works predominantly with stencils and spray paint.
